Before booking a CPR class, get the exact requirement from your employer, school or licensing authority. The phrase “CPR certified” may leave out important details.

The right class depends on the credential your role requires, not simply the next available date.

Ask for the full course name

Request the required course title and accepted issuing organization in writing. Ask whether First Aid and AED training must be included, and whether adult, child or infant skills are needed.

Healthcare roles may specify Basic Life Support, often called BLS. The American Heart Association describes its BLS Provider course as intended for healthcare professionals and trained first responders. Do not assume a general CPR course is interchangeable with it.

Confirm the accepted format

Classroom, blended and online-only products can have different completion requirements. Ask whether your employer requires a hands-on skills component.

Read the full course description before paying. If the online portion and skills session are booked separately, confirm what remains to complete and whether the quoted price covers both.

Check the deadline

Tell the provider when you need the completed credential. Ask about prerequisites, required preparation and the process for receiving completion documentation. Do not assume registration alone satisfies the requirement.

Bring the requirement to your inquiry

A useful message includes your role, exact course requirement, accepted issuer, deadline and preferred location. You do not need to send private employment or medical documents just to ask about a class.

Use our course guide, then request availability. CPR Certification LI will need to confirm the available course and credential before enrollment.
